Rock Steady Crew

 Rock Steady Crew is a breakdancing and hip hop group that gained worldwide recognition in the 1980s. The group was founded in The Bronx, New York City in 1977 by b-boys Jimmy Dee and Jimmy Lee. The Manhattan branch was later created by Crazy Legs and B-Boy Fresh. The Rock Steady Crew became a franchise name for multiple groups in other locations.

Their 1983 international hit song "(Hey You) The Rock Steady Crew" from their first studio album Ready for Battle, peaked at No. 6 on the UK Singles Chart and reached the top 10 in many European countries. The group was also featured in the films Flashdance and Beat Street, which ignited international interest in the b-boy subculture.

The New York Times called the Rock Steady Crew "the foremost breakdancing group in the world today." Notable members of the group have included Crazy Legs, DJ Cucumber Slice, DJ Qbert, Fever One, Madchild, Mr. Wiggles, Q-Unique, Rahzel, and Tony Touch. Former members have included Frosty Freeze, Mix Master Mike, Ken Swift, Rhettmatic, and Daisy Castro (a.k.a. Baby Love), who was the lead vocalist on "(Hey You) The Rock Steady Crew."

In terms of their discography, the Rock Steady Crew released two albums: Ready for Battle in 1984 and 30 Years to the Day in 2007. They also released several singles, including "(Hey You) The Rock Steady Crew," "Uprock," and "She's Fresh."

In addition to their music and dance performances, the Rock Steady Crew has made appearances in several feature films, including Wild Style (1982), Style Wars (1983), Flashdance (1983), Beat Street (1984), Moonwalker (1988), and Streets Is Watching (1998).
